School holiday programs for bushfire affected communities

YMCA Victoria in partnership with the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund is providing a range of free programs and activities during school holidays in 14 bushfire affected communities across the state.

Free programs and activities are available to students from fire affected schools, and families from fire affected communities.

Prep to Year 8   Years 9 to 12

Holiday Programs & Activities
  • Learning based fun!
    Using an active learning approach, staff and teachers will provide a supported learning environment to meet the needs of individual students. For Prep to Year 12 students, tutoring and VCE subject support may also be provided based on the needs of students and consultation with schools.
  • Recreation based fun!
    Our active participation opportunities include sport, arts and crafts, cooking, performing arts, social activities and excursions to local and regional attractions. All our programs promote the development of leadership skills and talents.
Reimbursement is available for displaced families

Families who have relocated to an area where a free program is not offered can apply for a reimbursement of fees for children who attend programs offered by registered vacation care providers. Find out more.

YMCA Victoria is also keen to hear from agencies and providers who are interested in supporting bushfire affected communities in their recovery.
