Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament provides young Victorians aged between 16 and 25 with the opportunity to "raise the roof of parliament" on the issues closest to their hearts.

The program provides young people with an opportunity to develop skills in relationship-building, team-work, public speaking, and leadership as well as to have fun. Participants take part in a 9-day residential training program which culminates in them formally debating bills in the Victorian Parliamentary chambers in September.

The Victorian Youth Parliament program is run by YMCA Victoria in conjunction with the State Government's Office for Youth. A volunteer Taskforce of 16 past participants, all under the age of 25, lead the program.
